Boston’s Forgotten Custom Cocktail Bar

Ward Eight is a custom-blended cocktail soap built around one of Boston’s old-school classics. Kentucky Bourbon, lemon, amaretto, and orange essential oil come together to recreate the bright, boozy character of the Ward Eight cocktail in soap form.

Fresh orange and lemon open the scent with a crisp citrus snap, followed by smoky bourbon depth and subtle cherry-almond sweetness from the amaretto. It is smooth, bright, slightly sweet, and far more interesting than another basic citrus bar.

Made with kaolin clay for excellent lather and added slickness, Ward Eight delivers a smooth wash with a fragrance you will not find anywhere else.

The History: The Ward Eight cocktail dates back to the late 1800s and is commonly tied to Boston politics, named for the city’s Eighth Ward. Traditionally made with whiskey, citrus, and grenadine, it became one of Boston’s signature cocktails, even if it never got the same fame as the Manhattan or Old Fashioned.

For those who appreciate forgotten classics, because the best drinks are not always the most famous.

All-natural oils. Palm oil and Mica are responsibly and sustainably sourced. 

Traditionally made bars of cold processed soap are best when used with a soap dish that allows the bar to dry or air out. Avoid leaving in standing water.
