The Green Fairy They Tried to Ban

Absinthe is an emerald-green bar soap inspired by the mysterious spirit known as the Green Fairy. Sharp anise, fennel, and melissa create its herbal core, while warm cinnamon, nutmeg, amber, and woods give the fragrance a darker, spiced finish. Ground rolled oats add gentle exfoliation to a bar that is as distinctive as the legend behind it.

The History: Once celebrated in cafés and condemned as dangerous, absinthe built a reputation steeped in ritual, controversy, and forbidden allure. By the early 1900s, the Green Fairy had been banned in the United States and across much of Europe, turning an herbal spirit into one of history’s most notorious bottles.

Also available in: Beard Oil, Beard Balm, Beard Butter, and Mustache Wax.

Darkly herbal, warmly spiced, and just forbidden enough to earn its name.

All-natural oils. Palm oil and Mica are responsibly and sustainably sourced.

Traditionally made bars of cold processed soap are best when used with a soap dish that allows the bar to dry or air out. Avoid leaving in standing water.

As these soaps are handmade in small batches, pictures are for reference only. Color, shape, and weight may vary slightly.

Each Bar 5.0 oz - 5.5 oz.

Dimensions: 3"x 3"x 1"

*Weight and size can vary slightly due to each bar being cut by hand.

Olive Oil, Organic Palm Oil, Water, Coconut Oil, Sodium Hydroxide*, Shea Butter, Fragrance Oil, Castor Oil, Whole Grain Rolled Oats, Sugar, Mica
*No Sodium Hydroxide (Lye) left in final product.

Customers love this soap, praising its "unique" and "inviting" scent, described as expertly blended black licorice/anise. Shoppers report "excellent lather" and high quality that's long-lasting without drying skin. Some note the soft compound means bars are used "on the swifter side." Overall highly recommended.

Amazing soap! The scent is great

Amazing soap! The scent is great. The idea is just mind-blowing that they decided to call it absinthe. I love it though

Great smell, excellent lather. Compound is soft, bar use is on the swifter side.

One of the top soaps in my collection

This soap smells great. Has a unique smell to it. This would be one of those that I would order in bulk just to have in stock. I’m a very picky person when it comes to soaps. I have all kinds of brands and this soap is on my top list to keep buying

Absinthe

Anise, which is the black licorice scent, is a polarizing scent. This bay, however, is expertly blended and smells fantastic. Another winner!

Absinthe has a very inviting scent

I was not familiar with Absinthe, but once I was able to smell the soap, I really liked it alot! So far, I have liked all the scents I have used. Good lather, interesting scents, and has not dried out my skin, which often has happened with other soaps. The website is visually quite interesting and I look forward to the holiday scents in the future!
